Practice‑focused

Bringing On New Days for systems as well as people

Alongside our partnership with the Fellowship Support Network and our community-based mahi, Bond Trust seeks to facilitate initiatives designed to improve reintegration practice, strengthen community safety, and support informed public understanding. These initiatives reflect our commitment to Bringing On New Days, not only for individuals, but for the systems and communities that surround them.

Initiative One

National Advisory Group on Special Conditions (NAGSC)

The National Advisory Group on Special Conditions brings together multidisciplinary expertise to support clearer, more consistent, and evidence-based use of special parole conditions across Aotearoa.

Media & Public Narrative Group

Public understanding plays a critical role in community safety and reintegration outcomes. The Media & Public Narrative Group works to support balanced, evidence-informed, and mana-enhancing public conversations about reintegration.

This group:

  • provides accessible information to media and community audiences
  • highlights lived-experience perspectives
  • supports journalists to navigate complex reintegration issues
  • challenges stigma and misinformation
  • promotes narratives grounded in wellbeing, accountability, and hope

The aim is simple: a more informed public leads to safer communities.

Recent gatherings include:

Te Ara Oranga 2.0

These events have:

  • strengthened cross-sector relationships

Our seminars and hui reflect the interwoven fronds of the koru, each strand contributing to a stronger, more connected reintegration ecosystem.

A Shared Commitment

Strengthening the systems that surround people

Through NAGSC and our national seminars and hui, Bond Trust is working to strengthen the systems, relationships, and public understanding that make reintegration safer and more effective for everyone.

Together, these initiatives help Bring On New Days for individuals, whānau, communities, and Aotearoa as a whole.
